Today - we really tried to enjoy the overcast...misty, dare I say rainy day. So we went bikin' in the morning and then hikin' in the afternoon. We hiked almost to the top of Sombrero Peak (the peak behind our house) However, much to our surprise, by the afternoon most of the clouds had cleared away - and it caught us w/o sunscreen. :-( We had plenty of water, though so that was great. We saw a cool desert tortoise on the trail and much to my relief...no snakes! :-)

Wow--what an active day! That is so neat that you saw a desert turtle--I was just thinking I should call the boys and ask if they'd seen any critters!! You're one up on us--we've never seen one!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! --Love, Nana
