Halloween Fun

This may be one of those posts that will get added to over the course of the week. Many, many things going on this week. I will try to update our Halloween fun events regularly. For now, here are a few: Mummy - Jack, Some fun face paint (thx to Dad), Doing the Monster Mash (yes, in their underwear - I'm telling you- it's rare to get a picture w/clothes on!) and the Star Wars crew at a recent Halloween Party. For those of you unfamiliar with the Star Wars crew: It is Hans Solo, Clone Trooper, Obi Wan, Darth Vadar and a Clone Trooper.

Speaking of clothes and parties. This Saturday we were at a party and the kids were in costume. They got hot - and soon, they both were shirtless...needless to say we caught a few looks from other parents (mostly parents of the princesses). I told them to be glad they still had their pants on! :-)

High School Musical on Ice

A huge hit...the kids loved it - the parents could handle the music and the tricks on the ice kept our attention. We had great seats, could see really well, but couldn't really see paying $10 for cotton candy and $15 for a sno-cone! Other than that, it was great!

Birthday Party

Yes, as you can see..it was a busy weekend! School Carnival Friday night, Camp Out Saturday, Birthday Party Sunday...Fun, but busy!

Ryan had his 5th birthday party at Gymnastics World and boy, was it fun! It looked like kids and parents all had fun. There's even a picture of Todd doing a backflip on the trampoline. I missed the picture of my Dad jumping off the spring board (you know, the one they use for vault) and deciding to somersault onto the 4ft high mat...but instead landing on his head and sort of crumpling into a rounded pile. No injuries reported...but I'm guessing there were some sore muscles today though!

Camp Out

Ok, so Jack and I survived our first boy scout camp out! Actually we had a great time. After quickly setting up camp (gotta love these new little tents - go up in like 5 min - not like the good ole' days!)...they organized tug-a-war, marbles and a soccer game. Jack was in HOG HEAVEN! Dinner was quickly followed by a campfire - not a real one, just a couple of copper pot fire pits..but worked just a well. We still got the lovely campfire smell and smoke! :-) After roasting a few marshmallows and eating smores the kids went off to play on the play equipment. Oh, did I forget to mention that our first camp out took place at the local park!?! It was great! Nice grass, no critters, real bathrooms... So, at 10pm, lights were out and we were camping! It was a beautiful night and we both slept pretty well....as a matter of fact, Jack was so worn out by the days activities (and the cotton field next door) that he snored all night! And, amazingly...he slept in until 7! That is unheard of...must be that cool, fresh air! :-)

After a quick breakfast, ultimate frisbee and camp take down, the boys walked the park - picking up trash. It's part of the scout code - to leave "no trace". After a quick 10 min drive home, we unpacked and were settled back in by 9am! Gotta love camping! :-)

Next time we're headed to a "real camp out" on Mt. Lemmon...which should make for some good stories! But for now...our first camp out and Jack's first time sleeping outside...it was a HUGE success!
