Giant Blue Otter Pop???

Today was the first day of Ryan's summer camp, called Tiny Tots. The children are asked to bring a snack and a lunch and because his lunch will be sitting out all morning, I decide to stick a small ice pack in his lunch box to keep his lunch cool. This is a new concept, since during the school year, his lunch is kept in a refrigerator. So, the story goes that today on the way home from his first day at summer camp, Ryan decides that he his thirsty, but finds that he doesn't have anything left to drink in his thermos. My friend Rachel who is babysitting the boys for the summer looks back in her rear view mirror to find that Ryan has poked a hole in the ice pack and is happily DRINKING the contents. Horrified that she has allowed my child to poison himself during the second week she's been babysitting, she quickly pulls the car over. Praying that the ice pack contents are non-toxic, she rips it from his clutches...and luckily it was. Crisis averted, but lesson learned. When you stick foreign looking objects in a child's lunch box, be sure to clearly explain to the child what is edible and what is NOT. My children never cease to amaze me...who would think you would need to explain the blue ice pack intended to keep a lunch box cold is NOT for drinking?!?!
